The Core of Who We Are

We recently attended a company-wide meeting with all three of our clinics to do some team building, discuss our achievements thus far, and look ahead at our future goals. As I looked around the room, one thing really began to strike me. In a time where many businesses are having difficulty keeping normal operating hours due to staffing issues, our meeting room was full of a growing team, with many tenured employees, some with more than two decades of service to the organization. In our Peachtree City office alone, our team has been together for almost 15 years.

One of my favorite activities of our meeting this day was to discuss our company's mission statement. This mission statement has always hung on the wall in each of our three clinics, but I had never realized just how much this statement truly describes the heart of what this organization stands for, how this business operates, and the kind of individuals that make up the team that filled this meeting room. The core values of this mission statement was truly why this room was full of tenured employees who were so happy to come to a job each day that doesn’t even feel like work; new team members who were so excited to have the opportunity to become part of a team that truly exemplifies what a team should be; and a group of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses and other healthcare providers that truly have the patients’ best interests in mind above all else.

We broke down each portion of the mission statement to allow each team member to give input as to what they felt that meant, and if there were any changes, additions, or deletions we should make to the mission statement to better reflect who we are at the core. The break down went like this:

Help each person we encounter to achieve their optimal self.

  • We discussed this means helping address their cosmetic concerns to achieve their optimal cosmetic appearance as well as give optimal confidence.

  • To offer a full range of treatment modalities to address everything from skincare to face and body make-overs.

  • Equally as important, “Optimal” self doesn’t necessarily mean a procedure. Sometimes the best treatment is no treatment at all. When I see these overdone photos on social media, television, or magazines, it makes me wonder how the treatment provider in good conscience did not say no. Our providers never put the profit above the patient. We will always put what is optimal for the patient above all else.

We achieve this by delivering the highest level of service and patient care through:

A relationship driven experience,

  • Wow, I would say we knock this one out of the park in so many ways from start to finish. First off, our patients become our friends. We truly look forward to their visits and hearing about what’s going on in their lives. We know about their pets, kids, grandkids, etc. Because we have longevity with our team members, our patients get to see familiar faces each time they come in as well. Again, because the focus is on the patient and not the profit, the cultivation of the relationship happens naturally and authentically.

a comprehensive, all encompassing approach to aesthetic health,

  • Because we are part of a plastic surgery practice, we are able to start at skin care and non-surgical anti-aging treatments and work our way to face-lifts, tummy tucks, and other surgical interventions. Our receptionists attend numerous seminars and training workshops to be well versed in answering questions about our skincare products and active ingredients. Our esthetician’s are highly skilled in various medical-grade treatment modalities for improving skin texture, hyperpigmentation, acne, etc. Our nurse practitioners and nurses are incredibly experienced and sought after in cosmetic injectables and non-surgical anti-aging treatments. Our double board-certified plastic surgeons and our accredited surgery center make our plastic surgery center a leading destination in the south for plastic surgery procedures. I always say that you don’t want to put a new roof on a house that’s falling down. At Renaissance, we have the entire skillset to do it all from the ground up!

and clinically tested proven technology and innovation.

  • This goes back to what I mentioned in the beginning. We always put what is best for the patient above profit. I have patients come in often asking me about the latest fad treatments wondering why we don’t offer them. We won’t offer a treatment just because we can. We won’t do a procedure on you just because you will pay for it. We will only offer clinically proven and sound procedures that will benefit that individual patient. Any device or procedure that is brought into this practice is first extensively researched to determine its effectiveness and safety for our patients.

I feel so fortunate to get to do a job that I am so passionate about in an organization that has the same goals and values as I do, always keeping patient safety and outcomes as the top priority, and practicing at the highest ethical standards. At the end of the activity we all agreed that there were no changes to be made to the mission statement. It truly described who we are at the core!
